Melody Angel grew up on the south side of Chicago. As a young seven-year-old girl, Rock and Roll took over her life. When Melody's mom realized this obsession was much more than a fleeting interest, she went into a local pawnshop and bought her daughter a Fender Stratocaster guitar. A vivid purple one no less.
At age 15, Melody tucked that strat under her arms, boldly taught herself to play, and never looked back. In fact she plays that same guitar to this day, voicings eminating from it as vividly as it's royal color. And, if you look closely, you'll find over the years, Melody adorned it with a splattering of musical icons she grew up listening to, and learning from. The guitar itself is a representation of all the styles and influences on her music - from Jimi Hendrix and Prince, to Slash, Chuck Berry, and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Melody Angel has played all over the world, and continues to defy the odds as an independent artist. She currently tours to promote her 2nd full length album, Angels & Melodies, featuring songs like, The Boogie, American Dream, and Dance With Me Baby. Melody performs regularly at the Rosa’s Lounge blues club in Chicago. Her music is available online and at her live shows.
